Love Ball 2015

I had the pleasure of planning, and organizing a Valentines Dinner event for couples at our church this last February and I admit, this was one task I am very proud of. With just one month to plan it all, I am extremely happy with how everything turned out.
All of the Decorations were DIY..
I collected wine bottles from friends, covered them in glitter and put fresh roses in them.

I just loved the way they sparkled in dim lighting

For the vase centerpieces I made rosettes out of paper streamers, hot glued them onto a plastic ball,
put some water beads and a submersible LED light and there you have it

These were just a few favors for the guests

We had a 3 course meal and everything was delicious

I found this amazing website where you can order up lighting and they mail
it to you with simple instructions, and you mail them back after the event

Along the entryway, I just lined the wall with paper lunch bags with tea lights inside to create a gorgeous entry

This beautiful paper flower backdrop took me a week to get done...
Thanks to my great friend, Notie for helping me with it

Guests played a few games and the winning couples took home awesome prizes

Do you like the glitter bottles??

Thanks to my amazing husband for believing in me and helping me pull off a successful event.
Hope to do this again next year

Tanaka's Baby Shower

Happy Holidays!!

Recently I travelled for my sissy's baby shower.
I was in charge of the décor. Since she's having a boy and she wanted the shower to include animals, Safari was the best theme for the event.
Now I love a fun party but I'm not a fan of Baby Showers that look like a kiddy party.
Pinterest and Youtube were my friends for weeks and after a lot of brainstorming, I had a theme, Safari.

A friend opened her home for us to raid. She loves throwing parties and her home was filled with lots of stuff for us to use so we ended up spending very little.

The Cake and Dessert Table was gorgeous. Dorothy did an amazing job
She gifted Tanaka with everything on the table.
 Isn't she beautiful?
Tanaka with her twin sister. Makeup done by me
Not very clear but this is what I did for the centerpieces... each table had a different stone carved animal and vase sitting on a wood piece and 3 mason jars with green burlap for a hint of color.

It was such a fun night and yes we do take games seriously.

Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday Party

I know that these are way way overdue but as the saying goes, "better late than never"

Here are some pictures from Sydney's 2nd birthday party

For the cake, I just baked 2 layers of vanilla cake and frosted with whipped cream frosting.
Very simple and easy to do ruffles. Cupcakes were from cake batter, whipped cream frosting and oreo cookies for
Minnie mouse ears.
The punch was a mix or pink lemonade and 7 Up

For her outfit, I bought a 2nd Birthday Onesie on Etsy and I made the Tutu myself...
Don't you love how full it looks?? I do

Birthday Tradition. I don't know how many more Birthdays he'll keep doing this though.
It was a Great Birthday and I think these 2 ladies agreed

My Picture, My Way

Am I the only one who is never truly satisfied with a picture frame?
I love pictures but collage picture frames never seem to be satisfactory for me.
Since the walls in the house have been so bare I decided to do my own Picture Frame..My Way
I found this big frame at Value Village which is a thrift store I love cause its so clean and does not have that thrift store smell.

The Painting's nice though... So I took out the painting, glass and back board and got a new board from Home Depot.

Gift wrapping paper from Michaels.
Glued it onto the board with my trusty glue gun

After gluing the gift wrap I nailed the board onto the frame.
I got 4 white picture frames from Value Village, nailed them onto the frame and the result
Ta Daaaa!!!

 So easy to do..

Big Frame.............Thrift Store $12
4 Small Frames........ Thrift Store $3 each
Gift wrap................... Michaels  $2
Board......................... Home Depot $10
        WINNING!!!!!!!

Sydney and Co.

SYDNEY IS ONE!!!

Sydney turned 1 on June 19 but we had her birthday party June 22nd.
We don't know that many people in the State so most of our church members were at a conference...
That certainly didn't stop us from celebrating our baby girl's 1st birthday.. Grandma came into town and we had a PARTY..

Trophy Cupcakes and Party was the Venue since we were having a Tiffany's theme, their colors and Party room matched perfectly.
I made my own centerpieces.. spray paint and hot glue gun works wonders.

We had lots of food, rice, chicken and beef, sandwiches, sausage rolls, meat pieces, candy buffet, cupcakes, I even took the time to make pettit fours and rice krispie treats.

I had a custom soda made and also made a special punch to go with the theme color..
Everyone loved it.

It was a great day and I'm blessed to have a beautiful daughter and I can have parties for...
Now I have to come up with a theme for next year.
